Navotas Polytechnic College Woman Held Hostage

A woman is being held hostage by a former student, who was identified as Romualdo Garcia, Wednesday, February 1, 2012, morning inside the administration office of Navotas Polytechnic College. According to ABS-CBN News, the woman was identified as Amy Perez.
The Navotas Polytechnic College, where Amy works as a clerk, is located on Bangus Street at the corner Apahap Street in North Bay Boulevard South inside the Kaunlaran Village.
The hostage drama began at around 8:15 a.m. Police said the suspect is armed with a knife, ABS-CBN News added.
Police and SWAT teams have arrived in the area to begin negotiations with the suspect while a crisis management team has also been formed to deal with the situation.
The hostage-taker’s requested Tabloid “Tiktik” photographer Roger Panizal to be inside the college. Authorities expect Garcia to tell Panizal his demands.
