No Classes on January 2, 2012 - DepEd said

Based on DepEd Order No. 28 series of 2011, there are no classes on January 2, 2012 (Monday) for kindergarten, elementary, and high school levels. DepEd's Calendar of Activities for School Year 2011-2012 clearly stated that classes will resume on January 3, 2012 (Tuesday) after the Christmas and New Year holiday break.

Meanwhile, based on the list of official public holidays in the Philippines in 2012 as outlined in Proclamation No. 295 declared by Malacañang officials, January 2 is not a holiday.
