March 15, 2012 Suspension of Classes Announced

Classes of some schools and colleges in Metro Manila will be suspended Thursday, March 15, 2012, due to a nationwide transport strike set by transport groups. DepEd announced that classes will be suspended in all levels in Parañaque and San Juan.

The Department of Education added that local governments will have to make their respective decisions on suspending classes.

Colleges such as Far Eastern University (FEU), and Centro Escolar University (CEU) have also announced their class suspension today.

Here is the list of schools which are suspended to handle classes Thursday, March 15:

  • All school levels in San Juan and Parañaque
  • All school levels in Quezon City
  • Far Eastern University (all campuses)
  • Emilio Aguinaldo College
  • Trinity University of Asia
  • Centro Escolar University (Manila, Makati)
  • Makati City campuses
  • University of the East (UE), Manila and Caloocan (elementary and high school only)
  • Santa Isabel College
  • Miriam Grade School
  • National University (elementary and high school)
  • San Sebastian College Recto (all levels)
  • St. Peter the Apostle Paco, Manila
  • Taguig City and Pateros (all levels)
Transport groups are set to stage a protest caravan to show their dismay over the deferment of the decision on the P0.50 provisional fare hike for jeepneys, according to ABS-CBN News.
